Greater Manchester woman threatened during burglary
Investigating officers in Greater Manchester are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a woman was confronted by a burglar in her own home.
The incident took place between 9am and 10am on Wednesday, December 30, when the victim returned to her Rochdale home to find a man standing in her property. The man threatened the terrified woman and finally left the scene with a number of valuable and personal goods, including a Samsung television.
The victim, aged in her 20s, has been left understandably traumatised by the experience and police in Greater Manchester are now carrying out a full investigation. Officers have confirmed that a 26-year-old man has already been arrested in connection with the incident and he continues to remain in police custody while police gather further information.
Detective Inspector Andrew Duncan, from GMP’s Rochdale division, commented: “… we are keen to hear from any witnesses, particularly residents in the Oswald Street and local community, for any information or sightings they may have of any activity they consider suspicious. I am specifically interested from around tea time on the evening of Tuesday, December 29 through to the morning of Wednesday, December 30 in or around Oswald Street.”
Anyone who believes that they might hold important information in connection with the burglary is asked to contact the Neighbourhood Policing Team at Rochdale police station on 101.
